About Sarves Thiru
Sarves Thiru's musical journey began in Malaysia, where she was immersed in a diverse array of cultures and traditions. From a young age, she was surrounded by devotional songs, mantras, and prayers in her household, laying the foundation for her lifelong connection with music. Under the guidance of her mentor, Srimathi Vijayalakshmi Kulaveerasingam, Sarves delved further into Carnatic music and gained performance opportunities, including the opportunity to record and sing at the national radio station, Radio Television Malaysia (RTM).
Upon moving to the United Kingdom, Sarves continued her musical education under the mentorship of Srimathi Sivasakthi Sivanesan at the Bhavan in London.
Here, she studied under esteemed maestros such as Dr M Balamuralikrishna and Dr T. V. Gopalakrishnan and expanded her repertoire, all while embracing spiritual practices such as Kriya Yoga and meditation.Despite a hiatus from music, Sarves rediscovered her passion during the pandemic and recommitted herself to her art, driven by the encouragement and inspiration of her late mentor.
Today, Sarves resides in London with her family, where she is dedicated to composing and sharing original music. Her distinct style, rooted in classical Carnatic traditions and infused with elements of world music, meditation and mantras, aims to evoke peace, healing, and joy in her listeners. Sarves's music serves as a conduit for spiritual exploration, inviting audiences to embark on a transformative journey through her soulful melodies.
